In with a bang from outer-space is a Star Wars medley and to remind us of the great James Bond Film Themes from 007 a medley of; Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only, Live and Let Die and the James Bond
Theme.
It’s 70 years since Walt Disney first created his animated film, Peter Pan, which we will be celebrating with melodies such as, Never Smile at a Crocodile, You can Fly! You can Fly! and The Second Star to the Right. We will then feature the Pride and Prejudice theme by Carl Davis, who has recently died.
Brian Heaton will be our piano soloist and also in the film theme, The Mansell Concerto.
Musicals are represented with a medley of well-known wonderful songs from Fiddler on the Roof and Guys and Dolls and a selection of Gershwin Melodies taken from his shows and films; ‘S Wonderful, They can’t take that away from me, The Man I love, Oh, Lady be Good, I Got Rhythm and Love Walked In.
Looking back to olden-times, we visit a silent movie with incidental music used for a love scene or a quiet interlude, the theme from Charlie Chaplin’s Limelight.
This will be followed by a medley of four songs from the film Titanic; Take her to Sea, Mr. Murdoch, Never an Absolution, Southampton, Hard to Starboard and My Heart Will Go On.
