This Canadian-born soprano has died at the early age of 44. She studied in the U.S at the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists . A finalist in the Cardiff Singer of the World in 2003, she impressed British audiences in Tippett’s The Midsummer Marriage at the Proms (also 2003) and at the Edinburgh Festival in Thaïs by Massanet (2011). She was particularly associated with Strauss (Arabella) and Mahler (her last British appearance was with the CBSO in Mahler’s 8th Symphony in 2019).
