Rome-born soprano Gabriella Tucci has died aged 90. She sang for long periods with La Scala and the New York Met and was notable for her interpretation of Verdi and Puccini. She sang twice at Covent Garden where her Tosca was highly prized. Over the course of her career, Ms. Tucci gained plaudits for the smooth lustre of her voice. She was also a pianist of high ability.
