31 December 2017, 14:45 to 14:45
Event type: Concert
Performers: Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra
Conductor: Barry Wordsworth
Soprano: Rebecca Bottone
Led by Conductor Laureate Barry Wordsworth this year, we will waltz towards 2018 around the salons of 19th century Vienna in a swirl of Strauss, exploring the magical musical world of the Strauss family’s many famous waltzes, polkas and marches, alongside songs and dances by their contemporary, Franz Lehár.
We welcome back young English soprano Rebecca Bottone for the second year running, to delight us with a selection of famous arias and songs and she has promised us lots of “sparkly top notes” in this concert. This is always one of our most popular concerts of the season and has become firmly established as part of the city’s festive season.
We nearly sold out last year so if you are thinking of joining us to see out the old year and welcome in the New, get your tickets early to avoid disappointment!
Programme to follow nearer the time
