Hindemith: Kleine Kammermusik(quintet)
Damase: 17 Variations (quintet)
This is a course for ten players of diploma standard (i.e. above grade 8), working in detail on three great wind chamber masterpieces - one dectet and two quintets. Each player will have a place in the dectet and one of the quintets - the Francaix will be conducted and the quintets will be tutored 50/50. There will be an informal concert performance of all three works on the last day.
Meals and accommodation are provided on this course (see details below), and there will be free time to explore this beautiful area on foot or in the car. Higham Hall is on the edge of the Lake District National Park, so there are endless possibilities for inspiring explorations!
If you are travelling to this course by train, you can be picked up ( by prior arrangement with Higham Hall) at 5pm from Penrith Station.
(Pickup from and return to Penrith Station is an additional £20)
Venue: Higham Hall
